Proppy
The smarter way of buying and selling real estate

Printing firm supervisor Cyril Chegudi and his fiancee Loree Forney are celebrating buying their first house in Auckland by bidding in a property auction through a smartphone.

Chegudi was the first person to buy a house using the new online real estate agency, Proppy.co.nz, which claims to be the first website in New Zealand to allow the actual buying and selling of houses and apartments.

He bid on a first home in Papatoetoe over a 24 hour auction period - using his iPhone to keep an eye on rival bids, instead of having to attend a physical auction venue.

The deal on the couple's two-bedroom property was closed and paperwork signed within three hours of the auction's conclusion.
